A Florida man is in police custody after his wife was fatally shot at her home with her young children inside.
According to the Palm Beach Post, a masked man entered the Boynton Beach-area home early on the morning of June 29 and gunned down the 33-year-old mother while her husband, brother and two of her children were inside.
The following day, Makeva Jenkens died from her injuries at an area hospital.
Days after that, investigators reportedly searched the home, leaving with cellphones, envelopes and paperwork from inside.
Though her husband, Euri Jenkens, was reportedly in the home when the shooter entered, authorities confirmed this week that he was arrested in connection with his wife’s death.
A WPBF report cited a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force source who confirmed the suspect was being questioned.
The victim’s family has reported that her husband, who at one time operated a barbershop out of the residence, stopped communicating after the crime.
Another man, 20-year-old Joevan Joseph, was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting. As of recent reports, he was still being held without bail at the Palm Beach County jail.
