Police in New Jersey recently responded to a report of a dog trapped in an icy pond. The Hopewell Township Police Department shared a Facebook video showing the dramatic rescue effort.
“Officers Robert Voorhees and George Peterson, along with Hopewell Valley Emergency Services and Pennington Fire Company personnel arrived at the scene to assist the dog’s owner,” the agency wrote.
Voorhees was tied off with a rope and called the dog, named Nisel. After grabbing Nisel’s collar, both the animal and officer were pulled to safety.
“Great job to the officers and emergency responders!” the police department wrote.
