Neil Diamond cancels tour after Parkinson’s diagnosis

Legendary entertainer Neil Diamond announced he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

According to Fox News, the 76-year-old singer-songwriter released a statement citing doctor’s orders in his decision to cancel the remainder of a tour commemorating his 50th year in the music industry.

“It is with great reluctance and disappointment that I announce my retirement from concert touring,” Diamond said. “I have been so honored to bring my shows to the public for the past 50 years.”

He apologized to those who purchased tickets to the now-canceled shows and promised fans that they will still see new material from him in the future.

“I plan to remain active in writing, recording and other projects for a long time to come,” he wrote.
