As backlash continues to mount against the National Rifle Association in the aftermath of last week’s deadly shooting at a Florida high school, numerous companies have announced they will be discontinuing special rates and other affiliate programs associated with the lobbying group.
Delta and United Airlines announced they would no longer offer NRA members discounted fares.
Major corporations in other industries, including insurance providers MetLife and Chubb, have reached similar decisions in recent days.
A statement also indicated rental-car giant Enterprise Holdings is severing its ties with the NRA.
The announcements followed increased pressure among online protesters, which First National Bank acknowledged was the impetus behind its decision to discontinue an NRA-branded credit card.
