The host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” apologized for his role in an escalating war of words with Fox News commentator Sean Hannity over the past few days.
In response to a joke about first lady Melania Trump that Jimmy Kimmel delivered in a monologue last week, Hannity used his program to attack the comedian as an “ass clown.”
Kimmel responded with a lengthy rant aimed at Hannity and the two hosts continued their feud via social media.
Tensions seemed to cool Sunday morning, though, when Kimmel posted a statement regarding the situation — including complaints that some of his jabs could be interpreted as homophobic.
In his own tweet, the Fox News host promised a response Monday evening on “Hannity.”
