Twitter strips Farrakhan’s verified status after ‘Satanic Jew’ post

Though the social media site does not provide comments regarding actions taken on individual accounts, it appears Twitter has removed the verification from Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan amid criticism over an antisemitic post.

According to the Daily Caller, Farrakhan has been the subject of at least one previous call for de-verification following another controversial tweet last year.

This week, however, a video and post promising to expose the “Satanic Jew” sparked renewed backlash and apparently resulted in action on the part of Twitter.

Hours after the offending post was published on Friday, the blue check mark that accompanies verified accounts was no longer displayed on his profile.
