As President Donald Trump continues his attack on unfavorable media coverage, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was asked this week if she agrees with his assessment that the press is the “enemy of the people.”
CNN’s Jim Acosta asked her to clarify whether she agrees with the president’s comments and she declined to disavow them.
I walked out of the end of that briefing because I am totally saddened by what just happened. Sarah Sanders was repeatedly given a chance to say the press is not the enemy and she wouldn’t do it. Shameful.

According to Mediaite, however, the president’s daughter is willing to break from her father’s longstanding depiction of the news media.
In a recent interview, White House adviser Ivanka Trump said she has “some sensitivity around why people have concerns and gripes” about the media.
Despite her own negative experiences with such coverage, however, she distanced herself from her father’s controversial take.
“I do not feel that the media is the enemy of the people,” she said.
