In the latest crackdown on the purveyor of right-wing conspiracy theories, Alex Jones found the majority of his podcasts stripped from Apple’s library this week.
According to Buzzfeed, Apple issued a statement indicating its decision was based on the company’s policy against hate speech.
“Apple does not tolerate hate speech, and we have clear guidelines that creators and developers must follow to ensure we provide a safe environment for all of our users. Podcasts that violate these guidelines are removed from our directory making them no longer searchable or available for download or streaming. We believe in representing a wide range of views, so long as people are respectful to those with differing opinions.”
The move comes after a similar purge by Spotify. And as Scope News previously reported, Facebook temporarily suspended Alex Jones’ account last month.
