Authorities in Utah say a man crashed an airplane into his own home early Monday morning, shortly after he was released from jail pending charges related to assaulting his wife.
NBC News reported that Duane Youd died in the crash that left the home destroyed by the impact and ensuing fire.
Reports indicate his wife and her adult child were inside the home but survived the crash.

Reports indicate he was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at American Fork Canyon. After his release on bail a short time later, police say he crashed into the Payson home shortly after 2:30 the following morning.
