Director Tony Kaye, known for his work on “American History X” among other projects, aims to bridge the gap between human and machine in his next big-budget feature film.
According to Deadline Hollywood, he is preparing to move forward with “2nd Born” and hopes a physical embodiment of artificial intelligence will qualify for recognition in the Screen Actors Guild.
Reports indicate he wants to program the robot to learn a host of acting methods.
The film is described as an independent comedy. It is billed as the sequel to the film “1st Born,” which was released earlier this year and starred Val Kilmer.
