An expected plea deal between the FBI and former Trump attorney Michael Cohen is close to being finalized, according to multiple sources close to the process.
According to CNN, he surrendered to federal authorities ahead of what is believed to be a deal that will require him to plead guilty and explain crimes including campaign finance violations, bank fraud and tax fraud.
As of the latest updates available, Cohen’s attorneys and prosecutors were debating a possible jail sentence associated with his plea.
It is unclear how, or if, the campaign-related guilty plea might impact ongoing investigations into the campaign and administration of President Donald Trump.
