Trump says he won’t fire Sessions before midterms

After a series of personal and professional attacks against his attorney general, President Donald Trump revealed this week that Jeff Sessions‘ current position is safe until at least after the midterm elections.

He made the announcement in an interview with Bloomberg for an article published on Thursday.

In addition to the narrow parameters of his statement, Trump added that he “would love to have him do a great job” at the helm of the Justice Department.

As for whether Sessions will still have that job after November 6, the president remains mum.
