On the heels of agreements by other former allies to cooperate with federal investigators, one of President Donald Trump’s embattled campaign surrogates is declaring his loyalty.
Roger Stone addressed Trump supporters this week and promised not to implicate the president even if Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller tries to pin “some extraneous crime” on him.
“The FBI tried to question my cleaning lady and FBI agents have been seen sifting through my garbage,” he said. “Here’s what I can tell you: They will find no evidence of Russian collusion. … They will find no evidence of Wikileaks collaboration.”
Stone declared he was “ready” for whatever might come.
“I will never roll on Donald Trump,” he said. “Michael Cohen I am not. One reporter asked me last week, ‘Are you worried?’ I don’t worry. I make other people worry.”
