As Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and others included in Christine Blasey Ford’s accusation deny her claims, one of her former schoolmates says she remembers hearing about the alleged assault.
A Senate committee vote on President Donald Trump’s second high court pick was delayed in light of Ford’s allegation that Kavanaugh forced himself on her during a high school party in the early 1980s.
In a Facebook statement this week, Cristina Miranda King wrote that she remembered hearing about the incident shortly after Ford claims it happened.
“Christine Blasey Ford was a year or so behind me,” she wrote. “I did not know her personally but I remember her. This incident did happen.”
King wrote that multiple students at the school “heard a buzz about it indirectly,” pointing to Ford’s own statements over the past week as further evidence of her credibility.
She wrote that “Christine’s vivid recollection should be more than enough for us to truly, deeply know that the accusation is true.”
