Walmart ‘very concerned’ about tariff-related price increases

Walmart is urging the U.S. and China to resolve an ongoing trade dispute before the massive retailer and others are forced to raise prices in response to proposed import tariffs.

“As the largest retailer in the United States and a major buyer of U.S. manufactured goods, we are very concerned about the impacts these tariffs would have on our business, our customers, our suppliers and the U.S. economy as a whole,” the corporation wrote in a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer earlier this month.

Among the consumer product Walmart says would possibly be more expensive with the imposition of taxes are bicycles and decorative holiday lights.
