Bernie wants Senate judiciary to request FBI expand Kavanaugh probe

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is not satisfied with the limited scope of the FBI probe into allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The 2016 Democratic Party presidential candidate penned a letter to the Republican chairman of the Senate judiciary committee in which he requested a broader scope of the federal investigation.

Specifically, Sanders wants FBI agents to assist in determining “whether Judge Kavanaugh has been truthful with the committee” during two rounds of testimony this month.

“This goes to the very heart of whether he should be confirmed to the court,” the senator wrote.
