The jobs numbers are in for September and the good news for U.S. workers continues.
According to figures released on Friday, the unemployment rate dropped to 3.7 percent. That marks a drop from the previous month’s 3.9 percent figure and represents the lowest rate since 1969.
The total number of jobs created included 54,000 in the business sector, 30,000 in health care, 24,000 in transportation, 23,000 in construction and 18,000 in manufacturing.
Total jobs added was lower than many forecasts, though, with the hospitality segment of the market losing 17,000 jobs and retail dropping by 21,000. Those losses have been attributed at least in part to Hurricane Florence.
