Social media posts from a recent football game in Mississippi have led to backlash against the Forest Hill High School band’s halftime performance.
One image in particular appears to show a group of students dressed as medical professionals pointing fake guns at individuals depicting law enforcement officers.
The incident took place in Brookhaven, Miss., just days after two local officers were gunned down while responding to a call in the city.
Comments were overwhelmingly negative, with critics across the ideological spectrum describing the display as inappropriate.
As of this writing, the school district has not responded to the growing controversy.
