While discussing the impact of the #MeToo movement over the past year, she said she wanted to protect men and women.

“I support the women and they need to be heard,” she said in an interview that will air in its entirety later this week. “We need to support them and, you know, also men — not just women.”

Asked whether she believed accusers who have come forward, Melania Trump said they “need to have really hard evidence” before making such a claim.

“We need to show the evidence,” she said. “You cannot just say to somebody, ‘I was sexually assaulted,’ or, ‘You did this to me,’ because sometimes the media goes too far. And the way they portray some stories, it’s not correct. It’s not right.”
