Stormy Daniels, the adult film actress who claims she had an affair with Donald Trump shortly after his wife gave birth to their son has lost in her bid to sue the president for defamation.
Her court filing came in response to an April tweet in which Trump said she fabricated a story about a “nonexistent man” who threatened her and her family in an alleged attempt to cover up the affair. The president called her story a “total con job.”
District Judge James Otero sided with Trump, dismissing the case and ruling that the “tweet in question constitutes ‘rhetorical hyperbole’ normally associated with politics and public discourse in the United States.”
Daniels’ legal name is Stephanie Clifford.
