Schumer turns down Super Bowl gigs to support Kaepernick

Comedian Amy Schumer says she is giving up some job opportunities ahead of the next Super Bowl in solidarity with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

After appearing in an ad during Super Bowl 50 in 2016, the actress said she has instructed her reps not to consider any future offers.

Describing it as a “privilege ass sacrifice,” Schumer said it was the best contribution to the cause she had.

Her social media post went on to call out white NFL players as “complicit” if they did not support black teammates protesting against racial inequality and police misconduct.
