Following her controversial defense of blackface costumes and criticism from network colleagues, NBC has announced Megyn Kelly’s hour of “Today” has been canceled.
“Megyn Kelly Today is not returning,” a statement revealed. “Next week, the 9 a.m. hour will be hosted by other ‘Today’ co-anchors.”
The network’s announcement came after days of speculation. It is unclear what will become of her existing contract with the network.
Kelly’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, issued a statement in which he confirmed his client “remains an employee of NBC News and discussions about next steps are continuing.”
