The incident occurred Monday afternoon when police believe 19-year-old Xavier Martin drove up to the spot where the football players had gathered to pray.

He allegedly began honking his horn, provoking a response from the students near and in the roadway.

When they told him they would be dispersing soon, police say the suspect flashed a gun and threatened to shoot members of the group. One of the alleged victims apparently knew the suspect and identified him to investigators.

Martin was arrested and booked into Palm Beach County Jail with bond set at $300,000.
