Former ‘Today’ host jabs Megyn Kelly after show’s cancellation

After NBC announced “Megyn Kelly Today” had been cancelled in light of its host’s controversial defense of blackface, one former “Today” host took aim at Kelly while presenting a third veteran of the show with an award this week.

“Tamron, you have a new talk show coming,” Soledad O’Brien said to recipient Tamron Hall, who previously hosted — with higher ratings — the same hour of programming assumed by Kelly upon moving to NBC from Fox News.

“But didn’t you used to do a show … the ‘Today’ show, right?” O’Brien continued. “And how were those ratings?”

She went on to make a more direct reference to the controversy without mentioning Kelly by name.

“And your feelings on blackface?” she asked. “Yes or no?”
