You might know William Daniels from his small-screen work during the 1980s and ’90s, but a would-be residential burglar reportedly saw the 91-year-old as a threat when he allegedly entered the actor’s San Fernando Valley residence recently.
Daniels and his wife, 89-year-old Bonnie Bartlett, were at home on Saturday night when they noticed a disturbance.
The actor, known for portraying George Feeny, the main character’s teacher on the series “Boy Meets World,” reacted by turning on the lights and apparently startling the intruder.
A publicist for the actor, who also had recurring roles on shows including “St. Elsewhere” and “Night Rider,” confirmed that local police responded to the scene and no injuries were reported.
“Luckily, Mr. Daniels was able to frighten away the person and the LAPD quicly responded,” the publicist’s statement read. “They are both well. Mr. Daniels thanks all his fans for their concern.”
Fans and well-wishers — including “Boy Meets World” costar Will Friedle — shared their thoughts on social media.
“Don’t ever mess with Mr. Feeny!” the actor, who portrayed Eric Matthews, tweeted. “#LoveYouBillAndBonnie”
