Following a racist robocall campaign in Georgia targeting Oprah Winfrey for her endorsement of gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, she shot back with an Instagram video using the incident as a last-minute call to vote.
“I heard people were making racist robocalls in my name against Stacey Abrams, who I am 100 percent for, in Georgia,” Winfrey said. “I just want to say: Jesus don’t like ugly.”
She told her followers that they “know what to do about that,” urging them to “show up and show out, and vote.”
The offensive recording that went out shortly after Winfrey’s recent endorsement has been denounced by the campaigns of both Abrams and her GOP rival, Brian Kemp.
