Ex-aide says Hillary will stage 3rd White House bid in 2020

About two weeks after she appeared to leave the door open for another presidential campaign, a former Hillary Clinton aide co-authored a Wall Street Journal op-ed predicting she will seek her party’s nomination for the third time in 2020.

Mark Penn, along with former Manhattan Borough President Andrew Stein, wrote that the former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state “won’t let a little thing like two stunning defeats stand in the way of her claim to the White House.”

As Scope News reported last month, Clinton addressed the issue in an interview by claiming she did not want to mount another campaign but would “like to be president.”

Penn and Stein predicted that Clinton might not announce her candidacy “at first, when the legions of Senate Democrats make their announcements, but definitely by the time the primaries are in full swing.”
