In a Thanksgiving Day tweet, former FBI Director James Comey announced that he had received a subpoena to testify next month before the House judiciary committee.
U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., drafted the document as part of the committee’s investigation into the 2016 presidential election.
Though he said he was “still happy to sit in the light and answer all questions” regarding his actions, he will resist any subpoena to testify behind closed doors.
Comey said he has “seen enough of their selective leaking and distortion” and his attorney echoed the sentiment.
David Kelley said his client “will resist in court this abuse of power.”
