In response to President Donald Trump’s recent assertion that his “gut” informs him more than “anybody else’s brain” can, comedian Stephen Colbert cried foul.
“That quote about trusting gut over brains of experts reminds me of someone I used to know,” he said, referring to his alter ego from the Comedy Central series “The Colbert Report.”
Parodying a conservative commentator in the show, the first episode included a segment in which he mockingly offered a similar take.
“Trump stole my bit,” Colbert said at the top of Wednesday’s “The Late Show.”
He went on to allege that the president stole his “anti-intellectual property,” promising to sue Trump.
“You better lawyer up buddy,” he said. “And somebody better than Rudy Giuliani.”
