Glenn Beck and Mark Levin, the driving forces behind conservative news outlets TheBlaze and CRTV, respectively, have confirmed their intentions to join forces to create a new multimedia company called Blaze Media.
They say the new venture is poised to reach a combined 165 million people through social and traditional media.
Beck called the move “the beginning of scale,” noting that other publishers and producers will likely be added to the fledgling company.
As Levin explained, he and Beck aim to address “the biased, ideologically driven mainstream media outlets that sanctimoniously advance their own agendas under the guise of ‘news’ and ‘journalism.'”
After a series of layoffs and financial struggles, Beck says his property is once again profitable and both companies are in the right position for the merger to move forward.
“We worked hard to make sure we’re in the black,” he said. “If we had spoken to CRTV a couple of years ago, it would have been a different story.”
