Chris Christie: ‘Not the right time’ to be Trump’s chief of staff

Yet another individual reportedly under consideration to serve as President Donald Trump’s third chief of staff in less than two years has taken his name out of the running.

In a statement on Friday, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said it was “an honor” to be considered for the post.

“However, I’ve told the President that now is not the right time for me or my family to undertake this serious assignment. As a result, I have asked not to be considered for this post.”
