David Hogg, who became an outspoken critic of the National Rifle Association following a deadly shooting at his high school earlier this year, took the opportunity to jab the organization following this week’s guilty plea by a Russian national.
Maria Butina acknowledged she acted as an unregistered foreign agent ahead of the 2016 presidential election and attempted to influence U.S. organizations including the NRA.
In one tweet, Hogg reacted by repeating a common expression used in the wake of mass shootings.
“Thoughts and prayers to the NRAs PR team,” he wrote.
He commented in other social media posts, including one in which he asks NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch if she cared “to comment on the NRA conspiring against American people with Russia.”
