McCain blasts O’Reilly over tweet about Ginsburg’s health

“The View” co-host Meghan McCain publicly responded to a tweet posted by disgraced former Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly regarding health news about U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Writing that the 85-year-old jurist is “very ill” after having cancerous nodules removed from her lung, O’Reilly speculated not only about the timing of her death but about the political ramifications.

“Another Justice appointment inevitable and soon,” he wrote. “Bad news for the left.”

McCain, whose father, U.S. Sen. John McCain, died from brain cancer earlier this year, took exception to O’Reilly’s social media rhetoric.

“There’s really nothing more gross and ghoulish than people in the media pontificating on a public persons health and the hypothetical political ramifications of their death,” she tweeted in response. “Join me in praying for RBG to have a speedy and healthy recovery – we are Christians, aren’t we Bill?” she added.
