WH responds after Ocasio-Cortez labels Trump a racist

Days after she was sworn in as the youngest woman to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has evoked a response from the Trump White House.

During an interview on Sunday, she said there is “no question” that President Donald Trump is a racist.

“The president certainly didn’t invent racism,” she said. “But he’s certainly given a voice to it and expanded it and created a platform for those things.”

Ocasio-Cortez backed up her claim by pointing to “the words that he uses” and several controversial moves from his first two years in office.

“When you look at how he reacted to the Charlottesville incident, where neo-Nazis murdered a woman, versus how he manufactures crises like immigrants seeking legal refuge on our borders, it’s, it’s night and day,” she said.

The White House disagreed, calling out the congresswoman’s supposed “ignorance” on the topic. Without directly addressing her points, a spokesperson suggested Trump could not be racist since he “supported and passed historic criminal justice reform” and “repeatedly condemned racism and bigotry in all forms.”

  1. If a President takes on cheap labour with undocumented immigrants for one of his golf courses and provides them with forged green cards I guess that shows he cares???
