Comey hits back with FDR quote after latest White House attacks

Former FBI Director James Comey is facing renewed criticism from within the Trump administration following a bombshell report indicating the bureau had investigated whether his firing was an act that served Russian interests.

In addition to an ad hominem attack from the White House press secretary, the president also tweeted his thoughts on Saturday, which included labeling Comey as “a total sleaze” and a “crooked cop.”

Trump went on to call his decision to fire him in 2017 “a great day for America.”

Comey found inspiration in a former president’s quote for a tweet posted later the same day.

“I ask you to judge me by the enemies I have made,” he wrote, quoting Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

  1. OMG! First of all, FDR was a crappy president, he admired Stalin, He started the ball rolling toward this mess we’re in today. Comey’s enemies include about half of this nation….If we’re to judge him by having made so many patriotic Americans his enemies, I find him stupid and pathetic, Someone sew this creep’s mouth shut.
