NBC pays remainder of $69 million contract to part ways with Megyn Kelly

Months after her controversial comments defending blackface used in Halloween costumes, Megyn Kelly has officially been released from her contract with NBC.

About two years after she left Fox News to eventually host an hour of Today show, the network released a statement concluding that the “parties have resolved their differences” and that Kelly “is no longer an employee of NBC.”

Reports indicate she has been paid the remainder of her three-year, $69 million contract, which is estimated to represent a payout of about $30 million.
