FAA halts LaGuardia flights, cites insufficient staffing amid shutdown

As a partial government shutdown drags on and essential federal workers — including air traffic controllers — are working without pay, the Federal Aviation Administration has reportedly taken action.

Several sources have confirmed the FAA prevented some flights from entering New York City’s LaGuardia airport on Friday amid an increase in absenteeism among workers, many of whom are attempting to make ends meet with side jobs.
