Ocasio-Cortez blasts GOP over vote on anti-bigotry resolution

After nearly two dozen Republican lawmakers voted against a U.S. House resolution condemning bigotry, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., posted a tweet criticizing the party’s response.

“Where’s the outrage over the 23 GOP members who voted NO on a resolution condemning bigotry today?” she wrote. “Oh, there’s none? Did they get called out, raked over, ambushed in the halls and relentlessly asked why not? No? Okay. Got it.”

Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, one of those legislators who cast a ‘no’ vote this week responded by suggesting the true outrage is that Democrats “put a sham resolution on the floor designed to protect the anti-Semitic hate and bigotry of [Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn.]”
