‘First time ever’: Ginsburg applauds Kavanaugh’s ‘all-female’ law clerk picks

Regardless of the controversy surrounding his confirmation process, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg believes Brett Kavanaugh deserves praise in at least one respect.

“Justice Kavanaugh made history by bringing on board an all-female law clerk crew,” she said. “Thanks to his selections, the Court has this Term, for the first time ever, more women than men serving as law clerks.”

Ginsburg went on to express disappointment over gender inequality elsewhere in the high court, though. She noted that just 21 percent of “attorneys presenting oral arguments” and six of the 34 “attorneys who appeared more than once” were women.
