‘Some people’: Trump won’t name sources in his ‘best speech ever’ claim

After receiving some praise even from typically critical sources for delivering a coherent speech in Poland two years ago, President Donald Trump revisited those remarks when Polish President Andrzej Duda visited the White House recently.

“I just had an incredible time,” Trump told one reporter of his 2017 tour. “That speech was special from the standpoint of the people of Poland, and I know it was considered a very important speech. You people even gave me very high marks on that speech.”

The president went on to share even more grandiose claims about the Warsaw speech, declining to provide additional details

“I could say it, but I don’t want to say it, but some people said it was the best speech ever made by a president in Europe,” Trump said. “But I did not say that. I’m just quoting other people.”
