Early Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden is the target of criticism from within the crowded field again for his comments on the issue of race.

This time, Cory Booker — who has previously called on Biden to apologize for comments about working civilly with segregationist lawmakers in the past — took him on over the language he used in a speech on Friday.

“We’ve got to recognize that kid wearing a hoodie may very well be the next poet laureate and not a gangbanger,” Biden said. “Ladies and gentlemen, there are too many black men, and I might add women, in prison.”

Booker shot back in a tweet:

“This isn’t about a hoodie. It’s about a culture that sees a problem with a kid wearing a hoodie in the first place. Our nominee needs to have the language to talk about race in a far more constructive way.”
