Snowflake Republican Sylvia Allen lamented what she described as low American birth rates and immigrants “just flooding us and flooding us and flooding us and overwhelming us.”
The GOP state senator went on to carp that the United States is “going to look like South American countries very quickly.”
After facing bipartisan backlash, Allen apologized in a social media post “to anyone who has been hurt” by her rhetoric.
“Sadly, immigration has become a most contentious issue in our country,” she wrote.
