‘I’ve become immune’: Gov. Cuomo brushes off latest NRA lawsuit amid COVID-19 response

The National Rifle Association is suing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo over his decision to exclude gun stores from the state’s essential services allowed to remain open during the coronavirus pandemic.

Asked about the court challenge during a recent news briefing, the Democrat dismissed it and focused instead on his state’s response to the escalating rate of illness and death caused by COVID-19.

“I think I’ve been sued by the NRA — must be a dozen times,” Cuomo said. “I didn’t even know I was sued this time. You become sort of lawsuit immune. I wish you could become immune to this virus the way I’ve become immune to NRA lawsuits.”
