Former President George W. Bush released a short video last week calling for political unity in the face of the continued coronavirus crisis.
In response, the current president cited an apparent comment by sycophantic Fox News Channel contributor Pete Hegseth in a tweet taking a swipe at the 43rd commander in chief.
Trump apparently believes his predecessor should have publicly weighed in with support during a congressional investigation that led to his impeachment.
“Oh bye [sic] the way, I appreciate the message from former President Bush, but where was he during Impeachment [sic] calling for putting partisanship aside,” Trump tweeted as a quote attributed to Hegseth.
The president went on to complain that Bush “was nowhere to be found in speaking up against the greatest Hoax [sic] in American history!”
