During a press briefing this week, Donald Trump drew criticism for taking a congenial, even sympathetic tone in response to a question about Ghislaine Maxwell.
Currently behind bars and facing charges related to grooming victims for convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein. She is also being charged with perjury and has pleaded guilty to all criminal counts.
“I haven’t really been following it too much,” Trump claimed in response to a reporter’s question on the subject. “I just wish her well, frankly. I’ve met her numerous times over the years, especially since I lived in Palm Beach, and I guess they lived in Palm Beach. But I wish her well, whatever it is.”

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany provided the president with a defense during a Fox News Channel appearance on Thursday.
“What the president was noting is that the last person who was charged in [Epstein’s] case ended up dead in a jail cell, and the president wants justice to be served for the victims in this case, and he prefers this to play out in a courtroom,” she said.
So much spin that even Kayleigh seemed dizzier than usual.
Waiting for the other shoe to drop, with Donnie tweeting:
“I feel bad for Ghislaine. She has been treated very unfairly.”
