Following presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden‘s announcement on Tuesday that he had selected U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as his running mate, the current vice president wasted no time taking aim.
Mike Pence, who will square off against Harris in one vice-presidential debate scheduled before Election Day, attempted to portray the center-left senator as a tool of her party’s more extreme progressive faction.
“As you all know, Joe Biden and the Democratic Party have been overtaken by the radical left,” he claimed during a speech in Arizona this week. “So given their promises of higher taxes, open borders, socialized medicine and abortion on demand, it’s no surprise that he chose Sen. Harris.”
Looking forward to an October 7 date set for their debate in Utah, Pence left a parting message for his rival: “I’ll see you in Salt Lake City!”
