Some pro-Trump Republicans on Twitter have touted posts by supposed Black former Democrats who left the party to support the president.
As social media sleuths revealed and Twitter confirmed, however, at least some of those accounts are frauds.
The company reportedly removed three such accounts, which included several posts that were retweeted more than 10,000 times.
One of the accounts apparently used a stock image as its profile photo.
Twitter’s latest move comes after it suspended thousands of accounts for sharing conspiracy theories related to the QAnon movement.
