The first 2020 presidential debate devolved into a contentious fight between Donald Trump and Joe Biden on Tuesday evening.
Among the president’s claims was a reference to a supposed endorsement by the “Portland sheriff,” a position that does not technically exist. Multnomah County Sheriff Mike Reese, however, is the sheriff whose jurisdiction includes the Oregon city — and he was quick to refute Trump’s statement.
The debate, moderated by Fox News Channel’s Chris Wallace, also included a number of other unusual — and some would argue unpresidential — moments.
