After Donald Trump was banned from Twitter for inciting violence, he attempted to bypass it by posting on the governmental @POTUS account. A number of key allies apparently attempted to further help him circumvent the ban by allowing him to post on campaign-related accounts. Both the @TeamTrump campaign handle and one belonging to digital director Gary Coby were suspended when they offered to give Trump a forum in violation of Twitter’s rules.
A company spokesperson explained: “As stated in our ban evasion policy, if it is clear that another account is being used for the purposes of evading a ban, it is also subject to suspension. If we have a reason to believe he’s using accounts to evade the suspension, the accounts could face permanent suspension under our ban evasion policies.”
