Locals can get a head start on their holiday shopping this weekend at Pine Grove United Methodist Church — and then stick around for some fresh chicken stew.
The church, located at 1018 Piney Grove Road, is hosting a holiday bazaar from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday with more than a dozen vendors. Artisans from the community will be offering jewelry, wreaths, woodworking, and much more.
Proceeds from the sales will benefit the United Methodist Women’s missions program.
From 5 to 7 p.m., the church will host an eat-in chicken stew dinner and accept donations for the United Methodist Committee on Relief to provide resources in areas impacted by hurricanes.
As organizer Amber Coley told Scope News, this year will mark the event’s return after a pandemic-related interruption.
“We have had this for several years prior to COVID, so this is our comeback year,” she said.
